Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England alone, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week. 

Life can throw challenges at us at anytime. Wellbeing and mental health are words that are more and more frequently being used within our society and an ever increasing array of ‘cures’, ‘tools’, and ‘techniques’ flood our newsfeeds and our brains, to help us deal with our issues and achieve our goals.

However, what if our understanding was flawed? What if all we were innocently making it all much more difficult for ourselves instead of easier? I can point you towards a simple understanding that will help you to move past anxiety and depression and fall back in love with your life.

Not everybody struggles with stress, anxiety or depression but we all have goals and dreams that we want to realise and sometimes we are not always clear about how to go about achieving them.

A simple understanding of how, as humans, our system works can enable us to move forward with more clarity, ease, and motivation and less fear, anxiety and negativity.

Coaching may help you to overcome a specific issue in your life – to move on after a messy relationship breakdown, to go out and face the world again, or to commit to a new career, embrace change in your life, be the person that you know you can be. I work with a wide variety of people – every one is different, with their own unique start point and ambitions.

Rita’s Story.

I want to share with you all how Anita Lawless has changed my life. I was suffering with crippling anxiety and panic attacks. I was getting to the point where I didn’t even want to go out anymore and had numerous anxiety symptoms. I did a one to one program with Anita and it was the best money I have ever spent. I had been to lots of counsellors and therapists but Anita is THE BEST. She showed me how it’s the way we react to anxiety symptoms that can make them worse. I had an upcoming trip to New York and was dreading it but Anita helped me so much and I absolutely loved the trip. Flying and going on a ferry (my biggest fears), which I’d never thought I would be able to do.

She is so good and was always there if I needed help. She would text me regularly too and is so caring. She went above and beyond. I would really really recommend doing the coaching with Anita to anybody struggling with anxiety and panic. She showed me how anxiety and its symptoms are normal body functions and taught me how to see this. I am now living my life and if I get anxious at all I can just deal with it. Can’t thank this woman enough.

Kate’s Story.

I went back to work when my daughter was around 9 months old.  I was very stressed and one day I suddenly had a panic attack. I had to stop working again and I spent weeks shut in my house, sitting on my sofa shaking.  I was prescribed beta-blockers (which made me feel worse) and then anti-depressants.  Other than being put on a 3-month waiting list for counselling I was pretty much left to it.

For the next ten years my mental health went up and down while I tried everything possible to fix it.  Every time I started to feel better I would slip back to that dark place and I was permanently terrified.

Around Easter of 2018 I was introduced to Anita through a friend who was doing a coaching program with her.  I started with group coaching, then some 1-1 sessions, and for the first time everything started to make sense.   Anita has an amazing way of chatting with you and asking questions without you feeling awkward and I was always very comfortable talking to her.

My life has now completely changed, I can go out without fear and I am not trying to live my life around my anxiety.  I still get a little anxious about stuff sometimes, but it doesn’t bother me and I am no longer scared by it.

I will always be so grateful to Anita; she has helped me to experience a whole new way of life.
